Who is the service aimed at?
mediaCastpro is a members-only footage marketplace, aimed at professionals who work in the creation of video content for any purpose, platform or user. It is a B2B meeting point between those who sell and those looking for footage. In the marketplace you can sell or buy videos for distribution online, offline, on TV, on the web or on social networks.
How much does the service cost?
Registration is free, for both buyers and sellers. Only on sales actually concluded, the seller has to pay a sales commission.
Is the service public? Can anyone use it or are there any restrictions?
The service is aimed at the B2B world of professionals working in video creation and distribution. You must register, demonstrating that you are a business and not an end consumer, either to buy or to sell.
Why do I have to register?
Registration is necessary to offer a quality service, and it is an added value for the footage on sale, as it can never be previewed by non-professional end consumers.
Does the service sell videos?
The service does not sell or buy videos but offers the possibility of being able to do so to registered professionals. The formula used is that of intermediation between the parties, and this designates our platform as a marketplace. Indeed: footage marketplace!
What kind of footage can you sell and find on the site?
You can sell and find footage on any topic: events, fairs, shows, news stories, people, politics, cities, landscapes, sports, etc. The requirements for selling footage on the marketplace are basically two:
- the video must have a format (codec, resolution, etc.) supported by our site
- the seller must have the requisites established by law to be able to distribute and sell the video, without violating any rules, for example relating to privacy or copyright.
How does mediaCastpro compared to the many existing microstock services?
mediaCastpro could be used as a microstock service, but it actually has very different features: videos can also be long, unedited, and composed of many clips, prices are chosen by sellers, videos are not put up for approval, private or exclusive sales can be made, and much more.

How is the footage organized in the marketplace?
The footage is organized into categories (such as landscapes, sports, cities or disasters) and each shot has a title, description, tags and sales licenses with relative prices. All of these data are chosen by the seller. Thanks to the search bar on each page, you can search for footage by title, description, tag or category very easily.
Under what licenses are the videos sold?
Each video is sold with one or more of the following licenses, at the seller's discretion:
- Standard license: the video can be sold to multiple buyers, who can use it for editorial or commercial purposes, depending on the content.
- Exclusive license: the video can be sold to a single user who will then have exclusive rights to it, and it can be used for editorial or commercial purposes, depending on the content.
What optional services does the marketplace offer?
The site allows the activation of the following optional paid services:
- Premium (for sellers): allows the seller to have his own page containing all the shots for sale and to improve the positioning in searches.
- Corporate (for sellers and buyers): allows you to share a company profile between multiple accounts. In this way, different people can work for a single company having visibility of everything sold or purchased by other people of the same company. One or more managers can also check the work of all the accounts entered within the company profile.
- Priority (for buyers): allows you to subscribe to the sellers you find most interesting. If the seller accepts the subscription, you will be able to receive priority videos from that seller. Priority videos are videos not publicly available on the site that can be purchased by a certain date and at a certain price defined by the seller. At the end of this period, the video may be made available to everyone or it may disappear, depending on what the seller chooses.
Can I try the optional services for free?
Of course, the Premium, Priority and Corporate optional services are activated free of charge for all new profiles for a duration of 6 months. At the end of the promotional period, the optional services are automatically deactivated at no cost.
What is the difference between account and profile?
- The account is personal and associated with a specific natural person, regardless of the companies or professionals they work for. Each natural person can have only one account. Each account is identified by a username and a password.
- The profile, on the other hand, represents the company or professional you work for. The same profile can be shared among multiple users thanks to the Corporate optional service. An account can have access to more than one profile if it operates on behalf of multiple entities. All the buying and selling actions carried out on the site are in fact to be considered as carried out by the entity represented by the profile.
I have a company with several employees or collaborators and I would like to allow them to access mediaCastpro as well. How can I do?
A manager with decision-making powers within the company can join mediaCastpro creating the company profile. Later, he can activate the Corporate optional service to allow other users to register on mediaCastpro using the company profile he created and managed. The link to allow the registration of other accounts to be included in the company profile is accessible from the company management page.
Each account included in the company profile will belong to one of the following three levels:
Each account included in the company profile will belong to one of the following three levels:
- Referent: this level is reserved for the account that created the company profile.
- Management: the accounts in this level can enter other accounts within the company, decide the permissions for each of them and add payment cards.
- Operational: accounts in this level can buy or sell only if explicitly enabled and can only use payment cards previously entered by management accounts or by the referent account.
How does the Priority optional service work?
The Priority optional service must be activated by a potential buyer. Once activated, it allows the potential buyer to send subscription requests to all those sellers that he/she considers interesting. Each seller who receives the request can decide whether to accept it or not. Once a request has been accepted by the seller, the seller has the right (but not the obligation) to send priority videos to the buyer. A priority video is a video that, for a certain well-defined period of time chosen by the seller (for example 3 days), is not publicly visible on the site but can only be viewed and purchased by potential buyers to whom this video has been given in priority. Once the aforementioned time has elapsed, the video may be publicly offered for sale or totally removed, at the seller's discretion.

Please note:
- The videos in priority can only be purchased with an exclusive license.
- The seller may decide to send a priority video to more than one potential buyer. In this case, the buyer is warned of this situation by a specific icon. The first user who buys the video wins it and prevents others from being able to buy it.
- The price for the purchase of the priority video may differ from the price that will eventually be requested if and when the video is publicly offered for sale on the site. At the discretion of the seller, it could be the same, lower or higher.
Why is consent required to sell or buy in some non-EU countries?
The company that operates mediaCastpro is an Italian company (netMtech srl), which as such is required to apply the GDPR, i.e. EU Regulation 2016/679. This regulation stipulates that collected personal data can be transmitted to non-EU countries without explicit consent of the user only if there is an Adequacy Decision of the European Commission for the country in question or adequate safeguards as per Articles 45 and 46 of the GDPR. While there are European Commission Adequacy Decisions for the United Kingdom, Switzerland, and some other countries, this is not true for many other countries, including, for example, the United States. Therefore, in order to be able to sell and buy worldwide, it is necessary to give consent to the transfer of personal data to all countries.
What are the buyer's responsibilities?
The buyer is obliged to use the purchased material in compliance with the selected license of use and the current legislation: in case of non-compliant use, he is personally liable, relieving the service from any liability.
What forms of payment do you accept?
Payments by credit/debit cards are accepted only. Card data can be saved in the user's profile in order to speed up any subsequent purchases.
Can I negotiate the price of the videos?
Unfortunately, you can't. The price is set by the seller in the licenses chosen by him/her.
I would like to purchase and download several files but I have a slow internet connection. How can I do?
You can contact us and agree a price with us to send you a hard disk with the files you purchased.
What are the seller's responsibilities?
The seller is responsible for everything he/she uploads: in the event of uploading illegal content or for which he/she does not have appropriate authorization, as well as in the case of false or inaccurate descriptions, responds personally, relieving the service of any responsibility.
How much is the sales commission that the site holds?
The sales commission, on each transaction, is calculated as a percentage of the net amount (i.e. exclusive of VAT and taxes) paid by the buyer. The percentage is 25% for sellers in the euro zone and 30% for sellers outside the euro zone.
How much space do I have available to upload and sell my files?
Registration as a seller entitles you to 1 TB of space for free. If you upload excellent quality videos that are easily sold, contact us and we may provide you with additional space.
How and when do I receive the earnings from sales?
If you have made any sales during a month, the following month you will have to issue an invoice to the company that manages mediaCastpro and thus receive a cumulative bank transfer of all the amounts collected the previous month, deducted only of the sales commissions applied. As soon as it is time to be paid, you will receive an e-mail and be guided step-by-step in issuing the invoice and receiving the money.
I would like to upload and sell several files but I have a slow internet connection. How can I do?
You can contact us and we will provide you with an Italian address to which you can send a hard disk with the files you want to upload. We will arrange for the files to be uploaded to the site.
What constraints are there on the files that I can upload?
Each upload can include one or more files which must however respect the following constraints:
